Webinar: New Rules for STEM OPT Extensions

We will be hosting a free webinar for our clients on Thursday, March 24, from noon to 1PM PST to explain key changes to F-1 STEM OPT extensions resulting from the Department of Homeland Security’s new rule, which will take effect May 10, 2016.


This webinar will cover the following areas:

  • New obligations for employers of F-1 students working pursuant to STEM extensions, including training program, attestation, and reporting requirements

  • Expansion of STEM OPT extensions from 17 to 24 months

  • Additional extensions for students who have already been granted STEM OPT extensions

  • STEM eligibility for F-1 students with previous STEM degrees
