Canada to Remove COVID-19 Pre-Arrival Testing Requirement for Fully Vaccinated Travelers

Effective April 1, 2022, fully vaccinated travelers will no longer need to present a negative COVID-19 molecular or antigen test before entering Canada. Randomized arrival testing will continue to remain in effect. Travelers must also continue to submit information through ArriveCan 72 hours in advance of boarding a flight to Canada or entering through the land border.

We note that the testing requirement remains in effect for partially vaccinated or unvaccinated travelers currently permitted to enter Canada. Unless exempt, travelers 5 years of age or older who do not qualify as fully vaccinated must provide proof of one of the following:

  • A negative antigen test administered by a laboratory or health facility that is taken 24 hours prior to their scheduled flight or arrival at the land border; or

  • A negative molecular test taken 72 hours before their scheduled flight or arrival at the land border; or

  • A previous positive molecular test taken at least 10 calendar days and no more than 180 calendar days before their initially scheduled flight or arrival at the land border. Positive antigen tests will not be accepted.
