Press Reports Indicate Trump intends to Increase H-1B fees by $100,000

Today, Friday, September 19, 2025, Bloomberg and other major news outlets are reporting on conversations with White House representatives suggesting that President Trump will issue a proclamation as early as today adding a “$100,000 fee for H-1B visas.” According to the Bloomberg article, a “national interest” exception may apply to the payment of these fees in some cases. As of this writing, there has been no official statement from the White House confirming a change in H-1B fees.  An increase in fees of this magnitude, introduced without having gone through the regulatory or legislative process, would almost certainly be challenged in court.  We will provide more details as soon as we have more information from official sources.
