9th Circuit Upholds Block on Trump Ban

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals denied the Trump administration’s request for an emergency stay that would have removed the temporary injunction blocking his “Travel Ban” Executive Order. The injunction was imposed by a lower Federal Court last Friday in Washington v. Trump. The Court of Appeals found that the government failed to show the likelihood of irreparable harm that would be caused by the injunction, and also failed to show that it would be likely to succeed on the merits with its defense. It is expected that the administration will appeal the decision to the U.S. Supreme Court. We will provide updated information as it becomes available.
