On Friday, January 29th, the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) issued an update from the USCIS Ombudsman on the ongoing delays in issuing receipt notices for petitions and applications filed at certain USCIS facilities. The USCIS Dallas Lockbox, which received an overwhelming volume of employment-based green card filings in October 2020, is currently still facing a backlog of approximately 415,000 petitions and applications awaiting to be receipted. The USCIS Phoenix Lockbox is currently backlogged to filing submitted in December 2020, and has approximated about 100,000 applications ranging from H-4 EAD, DACA, naturalization, and other case types waiting to be receipted.
