U.S. Extends Joint Closures of Canada, Mexico Land Borders for Additional 30 Days

On July 16th, DHS Acting Secretary Chad Wolf announced via Twitter that the United States will be extending the joint closures of its land borders with Canada and Mexico for an additional 30 days until August 20, 2020. The closures, which restrict non-essential (tourism and recreation) land travel, have been in place since March 21st due to the pandemic. This extension does not prohibit foreign national workers from seeking entry to the United States via commercial flight, as the closures do not apply to air travel.
