U.S. Extends Restrictions on Land Border Travel with Canada and Mexico

Earlier this week, on June 16, the DHS announced an extension of its ongoing restrictions of non-essential travel across land borders of Canada and Mexico. The United States has had joint border closure initiatives with Canada and Mexico in place since March 21, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As previously explained, these ongoing border closures do not prohibit persons from seeking entry into the United States via commercial flights from Mexico and Canada.
