CBP 30-Day Extension of Authorized Stay for Individuals Who Entered with ESTA / Visa Waiver at Certain Ports of Entry

March 30, 2020

Foreign nationals who are currently in the United States pursuant to the visa waiver program (“ESTA”) and are unable to return home or travel before the expiration of their authorized stay due to the global COVID-19 pandemic may request “satisfactory departure” for a period of up to 30 days. If approved, the foreign national will be considered as “having satisfactorily accomplished the visit without overstaying the allotted time.” Please contact our office should you need further assistance with issues relating to visa waiver overstays.
